A de Gournay representative contacted Classic Art & Design regarding an India Tea Paper installation in Berkeley, CA. Some areas required touching up, and the whole installation required final sealing with de Gournay-provided varnish. The colors and textures were exactly matched.

            Ceramic Restoration

Presented with a matched set of artistically crafted ceramic teapots, George first cast a replacement spout from the remaining spout in epoxy resin. The new spout had to have additional sculpting with epoxy resin putty. Once attached, both spouts' join seams were filled and carved level around the cylindrical forms.

With appropriate pigments and media and rendering with meticulous attention to texture and color, the restoration is complete.

A religious oil painting, The Return, had a dingy look to it as seen in the before picture. The after picture shows the paintings vibrant colors resurfaced after restoration. A color sketch rendered in oils was brought to Art for Design for restoration. Note the tear on and the dingy look of the painting in the “before restoration” image.

The solid oak tongue and groove floor in a residence in Tiburon, CA, had been scratched and distressed by usage. Art for Design, matching in tone and sheen the adjacent flooring, touched up the damaged surfaces.
